2018 Storybook Ball - Save the Date!

The theme for this year's event is based on the stories of Curious George, the classic children's adventure series by Margret Rey and H. A. Rey.

Children up to age 10 and their parents will spend a fun-filled afternoon at the M.V. Community Center which will be transformed into a festival of curiosities, complete with games, music, dancing, and craft activities. Attendees will also be treated to delicious local food and beer and wine for the adults.

Date: October 7, 2018

Time: 3:00 - 6:00 pm

Location: Mill Valley Community Center

Sold out every year, this family-friendly event has raised more than $200,000 to support Mill Valley Library's free public programs for children and teens. In 2017, the library offered more than 700 of these programs, drawing more than 26,500 youth.

"Funding from the Storybook Ball allows the library to offer more diverse and interesting programming than would otherwise be possible," says city librarian Anji Brenner. "It enables us to reach more kids and families, instilling a love of reading and learning and contributing to a better community."

Tickets will be $50 for children above age 3, and will go on sale on September 1, 2018.

Interested in volunteering? The Storybook Ball Event Committee will be hosting a Volunteer Information Night on Thursday, April 19, at 7 pm in the Creekside Room at the Library. For additional questions, contact event chair Kate Shaw.
